Roy's
60th Birthday celebrations continue with the release of Wizzard's
1973 debut album. An explosive cacophony of Spectorish pop, dynamic
rock 'n' roll - and everything else besides, including classical,
jazz, folk, doo-wop and heavy metal! Digitally remastered from
the original analogue master tapes for the first time by Peter
Mew at EMI's Abbey Road Studios,
Wizzard Brew ingeniously melds guitars, drums, pianos, cellos,
saxes - and even a military marching band to produce one of the
loudest albums ever to make the Top 30 album charts.

Between
1967 and 1972, producer and multi-instrumentalist Wood had
written 10 Top 20 hit singles, including No.1 'Blackberry
Way', plus co-founded two of the UK's finest ever
groups,The Move and the Electric
Light Orchestra. Yet the eccentric genius was not
satisfied. Stifled by ELO's formality and eager to incorporate
a brass section and push his musical boundaries further,
Wood left ELO to Jeff Lynne
and launched Wizzard in a riot of multicoloured face paint,
wild hair and bizarre costumes.A permanent and much-loved
fixture on Top Of The Pops
throughout the 70's, Roy Wood's Wizzard immediately stormed
the UK Top 10 with their first single 'Ball
Park Incident'.

Back-to-back No.1 million sellers 'See My
Baby Jive' and 'Angel Fingers'
were followed by Wood's most famous song, the perennial classic
'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday'
and arguably the best Christmas song ever written!
