ELO: Xanadu (Remastered Version)
THE ULTIMATE XANADU! The 1998 UK-only remastered edition, taken from the original Jet Records master tapes. The most superior sounding version of all Xanadu CD’s, including MCA’s USA and Sony’s Japanese editions. During 1979, Jeff received many offers to compose for film soundtracks. Following the encouragement of manager Don Arden, ELO contributed to the movie Xanadu. Though a disaster at the box office, the film spawned a massive soundtrack album and hit singles worldwide, with ELO scoring hits with I'm Alive (no.20, May 80); All Over The World (no.11, July 80); and Don't Walk Away (no.21, Nov 80). The title track, sung with Olivia Newton-John, gave Jeff his first No.1 UK single and another Ivor Novello Award for Best Film Theme Song. The remastered CD's 8-page color booklet reproduces the original gatefold & inner lyric sleeves.
