FLOWERS IN THE RAIN
Newly created stereo mix from the original Advision Studios
session tape - and the sound is incredible! 'Flowers
In The Rain' was the very last session multitrack by
The Move to be recovered, found languishing in long-forgotten
tape vault by London Bridge railway station, in a box
with David Bowie's session tapes for 'Let
Me Sleep Beside You' (apt!) and 'Karma
Man'. The version on both CD EP and 7-inch vinyl is
a newly created stereo mix from the Advision Studio 4-track
session tape. The original mono version can be found on the
new deluxe expanded edition of 'Move'
while the original 1967 stereo mix will be on CD 1
of The Move's definitive career retrospective boxset,
coming in 2008. |
02.
MOVE
A previously unreleased Roy Wood song that is sure
to achieve classic status as soon as it is heard. Something
of an unofficial theme song in the manner of an uptempo Stax
number, technical problems (all now fixed) during the final
mix to mono on 30 January 1967 prevented its appearance as
the original b-side to 'I Can Hear The
Grass Grow'. |

BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER
One of The Move's finest songs recorded during Spring 1968
by Bevan, Wayne and Wood also features
a Tony Visconti string arrangement and bass part. Produced
by Roy Wood, Carl Wayne, Rick Price in conjunction
with Gerald Chevin and taken from the expanded edition
of The Move's second album 'Shazam'. |
04.
FEEL TOO GOOD
(radio edit)
A previously unreleased edited version featuring Jeff Lynne
and Roy Wood plus soul legends P. P. Arnold and
Doris Troy on backing vocals. Produced by Lynne and Wood
and taken from the forthcoming boxset anthology, the original
full-length version will appear on the expanded edition of
'Looking On' coming in February 2008. |

FIRE BRIGADE
(instrumental) |
 |
An
instrumental 2nd rough mix, recorded at De Lane Lea Studios
on 23 December 1967 and produced by Denny Cordell,
this is a fascinating insight into the development of one
of Roy Wood's most outstanding songs. Newly restored and mixed
to stereo from the original multitrack session tape, this
version is EXCLUSIVE to the 'Flowers
In The Rain' CD EP only and will not appear anywhere
else. The original mono version can be found on 'Move' while
an early alternate version featuring Matthew Fisher
of Procol Harum on piano will be on CD 4 of The Move
boxset. |
