Available
again at last, 'Back To The Story'
collects all three rare original albums by The Idle Race,
single A&B sides plus previously unreleased alternate versions
of three Jeff Lynne songs. Re-released as part of EMI Records
relaunched Zonophone label, the 2-CD set contains 47 songs, a
16-page colour booklet with rare and previously unpublished photos
(including a new colour inner tray) exclusive interviews and in-depth
sleeve notes.
Though
two tracks by pre-Idle Race band The Nightriders had
to be omitted from this edition, there's still almost two-and-a-half
hours of excellent music, researched by ELO archivist Rob
Caiger in conjunction with all the group members and transferred
from the original master tapes at Abbey Road Studios
during 1996.
